Mattie Stepanek

1. Who was Mattie Stepanek?

Answer : His real name is Matthew Joseph Thaddeus Stepanek (July 17, 1990 – June 22, 2004 ) was an American poet, who had six books of poetry and one book of essays all reach the New York Times bestsellers list.


2. Why do you think he is famous?


Answer : Because he just a little kid that suffered from a rare form of muscular dystrophy and dysautonomic metochondrial myophaty but manage to be one of the best poetry and also make six books of poetry and one book of essays. He also considered as a peacemaker.


3. What is posthumously?


Answer : It is an award to someone after their death such as medal.


4. What does President Jimmy Carter means when he said "Think Gently, Speak Gently, Live Gently" and "a poet, a peacemaker, and a philosopher who played" ?


Answer : The mean of  "Think Gently, Speak Gently, Live Gently" is that in this life we may facing a bad time. However, we have to face and solve it one by one until we manage to solve the problem. It was not about you are slow or fast on solving it, but it is about how you solve it. Because in the end you will solve the problem too. And the mean of "a poet, a peacemaker, and a philosopher who played" is Mattie Stepanek was a person who shows an important role as a poetry, as a peacemaker and also philosopher.
